The grumpy hockey star who broke my heart doesn't know he fathered my child. Now I’m his boss. Awkward.

The NHL sent Dane Brandt back to Evergreen Falls to rehab his image while the media records his every move.

We both had no idea he'd be serving those hours under me in my beloved community center.
Or that the curious ten-year-old boy asking endless questions is his son.

I told myself I didn't need the golden boy who left me.
But he's there every morning, helping the center and becoming the father our son deserves.

Working side by side, the explosive physical attraction that got us into trouble flares back to life.
One glance, and I remember exactly how we made a baby. Every touch is pure fire.

Just as my heart and body give in, a woman comes forward claiming Dane fathered her baby girl.
Dane swears it's a lie, but trust is something I swore never to give away.

He's fighting to clear his name while our fragile family cracks wide open, secrets haunt us both, and the NHL calls him home.
